Frequently asked questions
Can we meet to discuss my project before the shoot?
I would love to meet with you to discuss your vision and goals for your photoshoot. I can give you advice on scheduling, coverage, shot lists, locations, styling and answer any other questions you may have.
Do you do product styling on interior styling?
I’m not a professional stylist but I’m happy to collaborate with you to bring the best out of your subject and setting for the photoshoot. I can also recommend professional stylists for you to hire, if you would like to bring someone on board.
Do you have a studio or use studio lighting?
I don’t have my own studio and generally don’t use studio lighting. My overarching visual style is achieved by using natural and available light in real-life settings.
What happens if it rains and we have an outdoor shoot?
Stormy skies look great on camera and a drizzle is ok, but if it’s raining, we will make a weather call prior to the shoot and find an alternate date.
Do you do ‘touch ups’ or enhancements during editing?
The majority of post production is for the overall look of the image. Each image is colour graded and optimised for the captured lighting conditions. With images of people, I can spot remove a pimple but I don’t change body features or shape.
Do you charge for travel?
I don’t charge travel for photoshoots in the Tauranga/ Mount/ Papamoa areas. Some travel will be charged for areas further afield. - I can confirm any travel charges with you when you enquire.
Who owns copyright of the images?
The photographer retains copyright of all images. You will have license to use the images within your business. Any interest by third parties for use of images needs to be liaised through the photographer.
Do you still do Family Photography Sessions?
Yes. Please head to paperandpearl.co.nz for bookings and further information about family photography.
